Therapy is very important for your overall health. Individual therapy is a part of taking care of your mental health and making sure that you are coping with your everyday activities. Individual therapy aims to facilitate change in an individual's life or help them deal with difficult emotions. Yvonne's therapy services will allow you to deal with traumatic and stressful experiences in a healthy and productive way.
Adults naturally live through many difficult experiences, and often need to manage the task of balancing relationships, jobs, and the day-to-day requirements of life. This can all become too much, and it may be useful to seek therapy before problems get worse. Yvonne offers adult therapy for a wide range of issues, including adjustment difficulties, grief, relationship problems, trauma, stress, and depression.
Adolescents go through a range of physical, hormonal, emotional, and social changes. In addition to this, they have to navigate the demands of schooling, relationships, and figuring out who they want to be in life. These changes can cause emotional or behavioural problems to develop. Although adolescence is often seen as being an awkward and difficult time, therapy can be a very helpful space for teenagers to express themselves, and learn more useful ways of communicating and behaving.
Yvonne begins Individual therapy sessions with a thorough assessment. This assessment is necessary because every individual is different, and will have different challenges, wants, needs and a different goal for therapy.
After completing this assessment, individual therapy then typically continues with one-on-one sessions designed to help you reconnect with your happiness. She believes the key is found within and does not come from things or experiences, but rather by allowing ourselves to be present in our own lives.
Individual therapy is helpful for a variety of reasons, such as:
It is important to know that therapy does not indicate a weakness or character flaw- in fact, it signifies great strength to know when to ask for help.
